12. Invent Your Own Amazing Race
Wondering how to get your family or group engaged in the wonders of Hilton Head? Problem solved. Organize an Amazing Race – Hilton Head style.
Using the same principles of traditional scavenger hunts, teams look to several Island landmarks for answers to clues, perform challenges, and receive more clues. It can be great fun even before the race starts, watching your family and friends observing various island features and concocting strategies in the days leading up to the competition.
If you use landmarks such as Neptune’s Statue at Shelter Cove Harbour, the Zion Chapel of Ease, the fountain at Coligny Beach Park, and the historical markers dotted around the Island, your teams can learn much about the Island’s history and many fun facts. Include one or more marinas and a variety of adventures will become evident. Include one of our many stores for souvenirs, or a restaurant for a well-deserved celebratory finale. It’s a great way to tour Hilton Head.
This is a fun activity for all ages in all types of weather. Families have used it for reunions because it is a terrific way to get to know each other and involve all the generations. Companies find it to be a great team-building tool. Friends enjoy it as something completely different – and inexpensive.
