  35. Take a Sunset Dinner Cruise

In the midst of over 200 wonderful restaurants on the Island, there is one unique dining experience offering the ultimate in beauty and romance - a sunset dinner cruise.

Departing from the Harbour Town Yacht Basin (149 Lighthouse Road) is the ever-popular “Spirit of Harbour Town” (843-363-9026) where every table has a waterfront view from one of the vessel’s 20 square foot panoramic windows.

From Calibogue Sound to the salt marshes off Daufuskie Island, down Broad Creek to the lively marina at Shelter Cove, passengers dine on first-rate cuisine while the setting sun paints a panorama of the Lowcountry.

In addition to the view, the outstanding food is a close second.  The all-you-can-eat Prime Rib Buffet is expertly prepared fresh every day.  But what you’ll notice most is the view.

The “Spirit” will also transport you to Savannah on their delicious Paula Deen Cruise and their Historic Savannah cruise, both joining up with Old Savannah Tours (912-234-8128 or toll free 800-517-9007) for a fascinating look at Georgia’s First City.

The sailing schedule for all cruises varies seasonally, so check on days, times, and menus.
If you are looking for a one of a kind, unique dining experience, the place to go is Page Island.  This private 30-acre chain of islands is owned by Outside Hilton Head (800-686-6996). Private dinners are available by reservation.  The entire package includes a fantastic eco-tour boat ride over, and a sunset or moonlight cruise home.  While on Page Island enjoy a robust campfire and a dinner on your own outdoor table lit by tiki torches and hurricane lanterns, all overlooking an unspoiled salt marsh that is simply breathtaking.  Cruises depart from OHH’s Shelter Cove Marina location (1 Shelter Cove Lane).

If you’re planning on visiting Savannah, check out the River Street Riverboat Company (912-232-6404) for a veritable feast of different dinner cruises aboard old-fashioned riverboats, the “Savannah River Queen” and her sister ship the “Georgia Queen.”  Cruise the Savannah River while you dine during their Dinner Entertainment Cruise or the Monday night Gospel Dinner Cruise.  They also have a Saturday Luncheon Cruise and a Sunday Brunch Cruise.  Schedules vary by season so make sure you call to see what’s available.  They launch from their River Street berths at 9 East River Street, Savannah.
